The White House press office asked that I pass along this statement –

*Statement on the U.S.-Germany Structured Economic Dialogue*

Assistant to the President and National Economic Council Director Larry
Kudlow was pleased to welcome Lars-Hendrik Röller, Economic and Financial
Policy Advisor to Chancellor Merkel, and his delegation (including
Germany’s Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy
and Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance) to the White House today
for the first U.S.-Germany Structured Economic Dialogue. The dialogue is a
joint initiative by President Trump and Chancellor Merkel, who agreed to
hold this dialogue to deepen bilateral economic and trade relations between
our two countries. They had a good conversation and exchange today
regarding a number of topics of mutual interest and shared economic and
trade challenges. Both agreed to enhance economic growth and market
access. They agreed to continue to work together and cooperate on these
issues, and look forward to future occasions for dialogue.
