*Ivanka Trump’s Workforce Development Visit to Lewis and Clark Community
College*

Today, Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump was in Godfrey, Illinois to
participate in a tour of the Lewis and Clark Community College Virtual
Welding Training Center and roundtable discussion with Rep. Rodney Davis
and business leaders from the region on the Administration’s policies to
promote workforce development initiatives, including apprenticeship
expansion, which will benefit employers and the economy. During the event,
Cope Plastics and Phillips 66 announced their commitments to the White
House Pledge to the American Worker.

*About LCCC’s Weber Workforce Center*

Lewis and Clark Community College (LCCC), based in Godfrey, Illinois opened
the Weber Workforce Center in the spring of 2018. This 16,000-square foot,
state-of-the-art facility, features the most advanced welding equipment for
instruction, along with simulators and laser technology and enables LCCC to
expand capacity for welding technology- one of the college’s most in-demand
programs. There is a national, as well as local, shortage of welders, and
this new facility will help meet the demands of the workforce.
